Help regarding drawing X-Y axis

Hi,
I am trying to display the point clicked on a X-Y
axis. I started by creating pixmap in a window and
drawing two lines, one horizontally for X axis,
vertically for Y-axis. But when i click on the line
the line is splitting.(because when user clicks on the
pixmap, i want to display a point). Can any one help
me towards
how to draw X-Y axis using GTK in C(Linux). If there
is no feature to draw X-Y axis using GTK, can any one
tell how to implement this feature.

Thank you,
Prasanti.
