gtk+2.2.4: text display problem...

Hello!

I'm a newby with gtk+2
I've compiled:
 
 freetype 2.1.5
 fontconfig 2.2.0,
 pango 1.2.5,
 glib 2.2.3,
 gtk+ 2.2.4,

 and when I try its tests, for example ./simple, that should display a 
button "hello world" but I can only see "h ell@@o".

 All texts are wrongs. I can only read the half of the words.
 I don't know where I have to look for.

 Is it a problem with pango or a gtk+ problem?

 I have a 4.1.0 xserver.
 My CPU is a strongarm 204MHz.

 Does someone get the same troubles?
