GTK 2.2.1 : no text labels

Hi,

Could someone help me on this issue ?
I serached in the mail archive without finding the solution.

I previously used GTK 2.0 and all works fine.
I just upgraded to 2.2.1.
When I start any application (gaim CVS, ethereal, ...) that relies on 
GTK 2, I cannot see any text or label.

I.E. : gtk-demo shows the window and the icons but no text at all.

When I set GDK_USE_XFT to 0, all works fine.
So this has something to do with freetype.

Any clue ?
