Yes.  Google for x shape extension if you are using the X version of GTK+.

You will be almost completely on your own, though, when it comes to the
integration of GTK+ and the raw X calls to the shape extension.

In fact, it is quite hard compared to how hard it is to google for the
shape extension -- so you probably don't want to go there.
