Symbol keys and accelerators

Hi,

If I wanted to set an accelerator with gtk_widget_add_accelerator, and I
want to use the '7' key with just a Shift modifier mask, do I have to pass
in the Keysym relating to Shift + 7, the ampersand keysym (for US keyboards)
? If so, what if I had a different keyboard layout, how would I work around
this apparent problem?
