GTK2 / XFree86 conflict

I seem to have got my XFree86 and GTK2 installations mixed up. When I try to link against GTK2 I get errors indicating that libXrandr.so.2 is missing. A quick look at libtdk-x11-2.0.so's dependencies confirms this:

~/packages/src# ldd /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so
        libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0 (0x40069000)
        libXrandr.so.2 => not found **NOT FOUND**

        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000)

According to rpmfind.net, libXrandr.so.2 is provided by XFree86-libs-4.2.99.2-0.20021210.0.i386.rpm.

On my Linux 2.4.19 system, according to 'XFree86 -version', I have 'XFree86 Version 4.2.99.1'. And, in fact, my version of libXrandr.so is /usr/X11R6/lib/libXrandr.so.1.0.

Is there a version of GTK2 that I can download that is linked against libXrandr.so.1.0? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill
