Detecting click on a label or a box?

Hello,

is it possible to detect mouse clicks on a label or on the enclosing box?

I have the structure

scrolledwindow 
  viewport
    vbox
       hbox1
          label1a
          label1b
       hbox2
          label2a
          label2b
       ...
       hboxn
          labelna
          labelnb


I hope I won't have to write my own widget for this.
