compiling statically against a gtk-engine

Hi,

i want to compile a gtk app statically against a gtk engine 
and theme, can someone explain to me how this would 
be done...

what i currently have:
i have the static library for the engine, a static library 
for gtk+, etc .... and i can compile a gtk app statically ...

all i need to know now is how to correctly link it with 
a specific engine ...
