loading windows at a fixed x & y position

Hello,

i want to load a window at a fixed x & y position.

after a lot of searching on the net, i found the function for this is gtk_window_set_uposition. however on compilation i get implicit declaration of function int gtk_window_set_uposition (...)

my code is as under
gtk_window_set_uposition(GTK_WINDOW (mywindow),500,500);

i have already played around with combinations of the above with no success. i keep getting the same error.

what am i doing worng? have any of you used this function before?

Any help or hints most welcome.
