Sorry I took so long to post this, but my network connection has been down 
for a couple of days.

I fixed the problem with my program. It turned out that I hadn't designed 
the program well. My Free Notepad code now works, though GLib often freaks 
out when I try to load a file.

Oh well. At least it's not *my* fault. :-)
