Using GNU libplot with pixmaps

Does anyone know how to configure GNU libplot to render to on offscreen
pixmap?

It appears to be controlled by two main variables, XDRAWABLE_DISPLAY, which
I think I should set from gdk_get_display, and also XDRAWABLE_DRAWABLE1.
How would I set this parameter to render to a pixmap I have created with
gdk_pixmap_new?
