Hello hackers!

If I'm on the wrong list please tell me but if not
this is my question:

Why do the gtk-themes in ximian gnome look so f...ing great and
on my plain progeny system ( i don't want to mess around with
broken dependencies any more ) they don't look as great as all.
- Especially pixmap themes seem to loose a lot.

They tell to have gnome1.4 as well - so what am I doing wrong?
Do I have to recompile some libs?
