Re: @STRIP_BEGIN@ and @STRIP_END@

Someone had already taken these out once, but I can't determine who
re-introduced them (maybe Tim Janik), apparently without explanation:

2000-10-15  Raja R Harinath  <harinath cs umn edu>
        (*): Remove traces of @STRIP_{BEGIN,END}  

Also, Tom Tromey suggests that these shouldn't be used (see
<http://sources.redhat.com/ml/bug-automake/2001/msg00104.html>).

Sorry if this is just noise.
