Hi all,
I upgraded RH7.1 Gnome 1.2 to RH7.2 Gnome 1.4 manually and in the transition
I suddenly lost the 'nice' font support for GTK. The only thing I got left
is this ugly fixed font in my menus.
I can switch GTK themes as much as I like; nothing changes; If I select
"Choose own font" + Helvetica (or other) from the Theme selector; nothing
changes; I manually updated my .gtkrc file; nothing changes; I manually
updated the themes gtk/gtkrc file; nothing changes; I checked the
/etc/skel/gtkrc file; no font information; --"nothing changes" means the
font doesn't change - some files are updated though--
I could install Ximian Gnome, maybe that works, but I don't like what Ximian
did to Gnome, so that's not an option.
I got a hunch, that it might have something to do with my locale setting.
'locale' returns: nl_NL euro I can imagine that GTK doesn't know the euro
thing and expects something like ISO8859-1 or 8859-2.
BTW: all other program's font settings work, so there seems nothing wrong
with X or the font rendering subsystem...
I sure hope that someone can help! Would improve my eXPerience with Gnome a
lot ;-)
Thanks in advance, John.
