Hi,
While compiling gtk+-1.2.10 (while doing 'make') for AIX 5.1, I
encountered the following error at the end:
ld: 0711-781 ERROR: TOC overflow. TOC size: 78556 Maximum size:
65536
collect2: ld returned 12 exit status
make[2]: *** [testgtk] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/shantala/ethereal/gtk/gtk+-1.2.10/gtk'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/shantala/ethereal/gtk/gtk+-1.2.10'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
Could anyone help me on this?
Also, I downloaded the gtk/glib source file for 4.3.2 and later version
of AIX. However, while doing ./configure for glib, I got some error
messages indicating that the library files being used - libX11.a,
libC.a, libm.a etc are not COFF files. We managed to find ways to
rebuild these library. However, I have a feeling that the source
files I've downloaded are not meant for AIX 5.1 version, although it's
said they're for 4.3.2 and later. I believe in AIX 5.1, there have
been changes that have gone in and the source code available for
gtk/glib do not address that.
Does anyone know if gtk/glib source code is available for AIX 5.1.
Thanks,
Shantala
