Iterating through widgets

I know of several ways to do this but was wondering if there was a
"preferred" method. I have a dialog box used for setting some configuration
parameters. On one notebook page, all the options are check buttons. I want
to add pushbuttons that will allow the user to select all or deselectd all
check buttons on that page. What's the best way to do this?
