mine do this all the time. am i doing something wrong? am i doing
something right?

its a huge PITA because, until Havoc drew my attention to the ACLOCAL=
hack, the automatic rebuild of configure would use "aclocal" and not
"aclocal -I whatever". havoc, you've just made a lot of people happy!
