gtk description

I have completed a project in GTK and as part of my report, wish to
include a reasonably brief (max 3-4 pages) description of GTK and how it
operates. Does anyone know of a link to where I could find such
information? I have been trying to piece it together from gtk.org and the
api but it is proving awkward.
Any ideas?
