refreshing a GtkFileSelection

I'd like my GtkFileSelection box to preserve the last directory it
opened.  At the moment, I create the dialog once, then hide and reopen
it.  That works fine, except that if a file gets renamed after the
dialog is created, the dialog's file list is out of date.  Is there
some way to force a GtkFileSelection to refresh its file list?
