Create the cursor using bitmap, make a copy with a different name and make it
into a mask. This is the only way I know of at the moment.
The next version of xmbdfed (http://crl.nmsu.edu/~mleisher/xmbdfed.html) will
have some support for creating cursor fonts, which includes the shapes and
their masks. It can already export glyph bitmaps in XBM form. The next
version uses GTK+ instead of Motif.
