Playing back events.

Is there anyway to play back a log of events in GTK? As in, show the user
what they have done by having the widgets move exactly like the user had
moved the widgets.  I have tried to implent this in a few ways, but it
keeps crashing the GUI. Anyone have any ideas? Is there anyway I could be
playing them back too fast for the gtk_main()?

Any help would be great.
