CList sorting (GtkCListCompareFunc ())

Does anyone know what type of data ptr1 and ptr2 point to in the
following prototype:
gint (*GtkCListCompareFunc) (GtkCList *clist, gconstpointer ptr1,
gconstpointer ptr2);
I can't find anything in the manual (it simply calls them "nodes").
