I am hardly an expert, but I have played with Electric Fence some, and it
is pretty neat. As far as I can tell it is C only (no C++), but you link
you application with it, and then it shows you memory leak info, and where
the memory was leaked from. It's in Debian for sure, and I think most
distributions include it as standard. Check you favorite search engine to
find a tar ball online.
