GTK or Qt

I need to write an GUI application where the speed is one of the mean
goals.
 
I have searched on the www and found two important GUI tookits
GTK and Qt
What are the differences between them ?
Are there any good reasons to use GTK for my application ?
Or are there other GUI Toolkits for high-speed purposes ?
