gtk's givin me an error

I'm running my debian box, and because i wanted to get gtk themes, i had to go and install some stuff from tarballs because the debian packages (slink) don't include 'gtk-engines'. So anyways, I downloaded the package and installed it, but once i set up my .gtkrc with these lines at top:

module_path ".:/usr/local/lib/gtk/themes/engines"
pixmap_path "/usr/share/themes/minEguE/gtk/"

and launched a gtk app, i get this:

Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/local/lib/gtk/themes/engines/libpixmap.so: undefined symbol: gdk_imlib_set_cache_info
Segmentation fault

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
