I'm sorry I sounded a little harsh. Your idea considered a more open
minded treatment than I gave it. I think what I intended to say was that
Qt and Gtk+ have HUGE differences from a programmers perspective, and
a few percentage points of performance are not likely to be the deciding
factor in which widget set the programmer chooses.
I've been through this process of deciding on a widget set for implementing
(porting) a suite of several hundred programs, and I never considered
comparative performance. I worried about comparative widget features,
compatability, and stability, and acceptable performance from
the widget set.
>From a curiosity and tuning standpoint, I would love to see a comparison done.
