Also, if somebody happens to notice that such an internal function is
mentioned in the gtk.def file (and thus exported from the gtk dll
(shared library) on Win32), go ahead and remove that entry from
gtk.def.

BTW, just out of general interest, what do Unix programmers think:
Would it be good or bad if Unix systems, too, had the (presumably
optional) feature that you had to explicitly designate which entry
points in a shared library are visible from the outside (even if they
were global entry points in the sense that they were usable by other
modules *inside* the shared library).
