Enough of mem management

This "glib is eating memory" collection of threads needs to move to
another forum, or die altogether. (I can provide a temporary mailing list,
if it really matters.)

The glibc info pages have a useful section on memory management. Please
avail yourself of this, instead of trying to debate the truth of 
documented technical facts.
