gtkpixmap needs expose event to redraw, help

    gtk_pixmap_set(GTK_PIXMAP(page_slider->gtkpixmap),
            page_slider->gdkpixmap, page_slider->gdkmask);

I use that code in my program and the gtkpixmap will be updated if I cover
up the gui with some other window then remove it. How can I get it to
update right away?
