It's not the color that's the problem.  It's the raised border that's
drawn around the button when you mouse over it.  I have not been able
to find a way to get rid of that other than modifying gtkbutton.c.
I have a grid of potentially 40x40 square icons without a raised border
on them, and I don't want a border chasing the mouse around.
