IMO (Rumbaugh&Co. would beat me for it :-), overloading is special form of
polymorphism (a method/function behaves differently depending on the
arguments).
But who am I to say that -- You must know I had to attend for or five
different lectures (held by different people with different opinions on
the matter) containing the basic OO principles (needless to say they
differed even in them), this cripples the mind.

As you can see from the subject, we talked about gtk+. That's plain C.
