is there a doctor in the house?

I've compiled glib 1.20 and ldconfiged it but when I'm compiling gtk 1.2.0 and I run into this error:

make[2]: *** [gtktree.lo] Segmentation fault (core dumped)

make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

Anyone have any pointers or diagnosis?
