  Ok..I've been fighting with GTK-- for a few days now, trying to get it to
do a simple task (pop up a dialog box).  Can anyone tell me what the problem
with this program is?

  (actually, I think I may scrap it and use Python anyway, speed isn't important
here..it's supposed to be a GUI version of the gnome-bug script)
