Overstrike in GtkEntry

Hello,
I'm porting an application from Motif to Gtk and I'm missing 1 features
and have 1 question:
First I can't find an overstrike mode in GtkEntry and
second is there an mechanism like regex for formatted input, I mean date
__.__.____ or time __:__
and so on, so that I can define a pattern for the entry.
