compile problems on SunOS 5.7

We've got some new Suns and I can't get gtk to compile on them.  It
compiled fine on the old machines.  glib compiles ok.  Any
suggestions?

The new machines are:
uname -a
SunOS dorado 5.7 Generic_106541-05 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10

> gcc --version
2.8.1

Although I think gcc was compiled on the older Suns.

The old machines are:
uname -a
SunOS webserv2 5.6 Generic_105181-14 sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-5
