GDK Compile

Forgive my newbie-ism, but I'm having trouble getting GDK 1.2.1 to compile on
LinuxPPC.

This is the message I get:

gdkimage.c: In function `gdk_image_new':
gdkimage.c:221: `key_t' undeclared (first use this function)    

Any guessses as to what I can do to fix this?
