Hi,
Under Digital Unix 4.0 the program compiles both with cc and gcc. But
it doesn't run, I get a "select 1 failed" error. With a perror() after the
select I get "./seltim: No such device". (I can copy with dd from
/dev/zero without problems). So the timings below are obtained opening a
big enough regular file.
This is an Alpha, I don't know the clock speed, but is low, not greater
than 275 MHz, On a very Loaded system (lots of people running netscape...)
starting test 1 with 5000 iterations ... done
starting test 2 with 5000 iterations ... done
results for: OSF1 uts.univ.trieste.it V4.0 564 alpha
select without timeout: f1 = 16853.12 Hz d1 = 0.059336 ms
select without reading: f2 = 732.15 Hz d2 = 1.365848 ms
Linux - Why use Windows, since there is a door?
