glib10

I'm trying to play with gnumeric on a Red-Hat 5.1 system,
and I decided to try updating with the RPM files available
on the gnome site. Getting al of what I thought I would need,
I tried to install glib 1.1.3, and get the error

        glib10 is needed by glib-1.1.3-1

Where do I get glib10 from? Or do I have to get the sources
to everything and compile everything myself. Everything else
seems to depend on glib 1.1.3.
