Hi, this is just a comment on the popup time of submenus. Maybe there
should be a delay before a submenu is poped up. The current behavior
in gtk (up to v 1.1.3) is that whenever the mouse cursor passes over a menu
item which leads to a submenu, the submenu pops up immediately. On the
other hand, in Netscape (or other Motif applications?) the submenu does not
pop up unless the cursor stays over the menu item longer than some
short interval.
The Netscape way makes sense because if you have lots of
menu items that have submenus, you don't want all the submenus to pop up
one by one when the user rapidly moves the cursor over the menu items to reach
the one he/she really wants. The quick popup and then disappearance of the
other submenus slow down the operation and make users feel like gtk is slow.
