[?] Need help determining how to set foreground color...

Am trying to set the foreground color for a row in a clist.  I'v seen the 
function, but is there some straightforward way to determine how to specify 
red as the color?  Have looked through gdk headers, don't see any simple way 
to get the specification for a particular colr.

Suggestions appreciated.
