problem exposing widget

I'd like to re-expose the desired area of my widget without having to
redraw it.
I mean, as I do with pixmaps (redrawing the uncovered portion), I'd like
to "copy and paste" part of the widget's window. Is it
possible, or using pixmaps is the only way?
