GtkProgressBar. Help!

Hi!
I am trying to use progress bar when doing a MySQL query. The question I
have is how do I update the state of the progress bar if everything is
happening INSIDE mysql_query()? This is very different from the example in
testgtk where the state of the progress bar is updated just in the "for"
loop.
