 In that case it would be better to pipe stdout and redirect stderr to a
 file and then 'listen' on that temp file descriptor. Back in the days
 of DOS (no windows then) I thought it would be nice that all stderr
 messages would automatically pop up in a 'text' window...

 As for Mr. Greenwald's problem, I think it's better to have both stderr
 and stdout together *and* in the right order so properly set the 
 context of the error message.
