This sounds like the way it should be done.  See the Amulet docs for
their implimentation.  

I think everyone liked the idea of being able to say both:

GTK_EDITMODE emacs

and

BIND "prior" { "move-vertically" ("page", 1) }

in the user's rc files.

It looks like the GTK_EDITMODE version would just call a built-in
function that sets some standard editing commands using bind.

Guess i'll find something else to do this weekend :)
