How much of an issue would it be to port your ActiveX dependent code to a
non-propretary distributed object architecture like CORBA? Your
underlying application architecture could be reused across different
platforms (and even different languages, if need be), and the system
dependent views (the user interface) could be kept separate from the data
models.
