In Perl5.005, internal variable names have changed. If you look in the
perl source directory, subdirectory Porting, you'll find a script
called 'fixvars'. Run it across the failing files.

Having said that, you won't be happy with the result, because when you
have gotten it to compile, it won't necessarily run -- at least it
won't for me. I don't know if Ken Albanowski has looked at perl 5.005
yet.
