Auto-generating GTK documentation

Hi,
Does anyone know if the structure of the GTK info documentation was
automatically-generated? And if so, how?
I'm thinking of trying to automatically generate some initial DocBook
documentationl, with all widget functions and signal handler prototypes
included.
