gtk-realize error

in my gtk+ program im writing i insert text to a text box, using something like 
this:
gtk_text_insert(GTK_TEXT(currentPtr->l_text_box), NULL, NULL, NULL, line, -1);

but i sometimes get this error:

Abort trap - core dumped

it doesn't occur all the time, but happens fairly often....which is really annoy
ing cause it makes it impossible to debug.....anyone know what this error means?
 or how to avoid it?...i've gone through all my src and haven't seen anything wr
ong or bad...(but i could be wrong)

i can give more code if needed.
