Grab the latest gtk distribution.  You can get it from www.gimp.org (follow
the links).  This is the source for all the gtk/gdk libraries and includes
testgtk.c.  I think to do a:

./configure
make
make install

and all the libraries are compiled as well as testgtk.c.  I was unaware it
existed until a couple of days ago.  I downloaded the gtk102597 distribution
and there it was.  It has an example of most all widgets.
