a text box .. please help.

Hello.. I'm trying to learn how to use gtk.. I've been trying to use
GtkText unsuccessfully. I need a text box one line tall, and 20
characters wide [displayed], but can accept up to 30 characters of data.
Can someone show me an example of how this can be done? Thank you very
much.
